Made for Trijam #332, a puzzle platformer game

In this game, you play as an ice cube that melts with every move it makes.

Alone To Melt OST

Theme

Because this jam's theme is simply "Sacrifice" I straight up took inspiration from Trijam #328's theme "Sacrifice your health for power"---although it doesn't exactly fit the #328 theme. In this game, the player plays as a melting ice cube, sacrificing itself with every move/jump.

Controls

A/D (Arrows Left/Right): Move

W(Arrow Up): Jump(sacrifices a bit of health to split a smaller ice cube that can be picked up later)

Red Circle: Heat up(Increases movement & jump power but adds a passive melting)

Description

I wanted to create a game with the pure minimalist visuals as inspired by many other projects---100% of the visual asset is from Unity base engine + TextMeshPro (Except for the font every other asset is simple shapes).

Thanks so much !!! :D I wasn’t expecting this haha

I did. It was obvious. Of course, because it’s an amazing game. Just make sure to balance the difficulty, hehe. You should watch the streaming of the jam… This game, with more development, easily could be ported into a mobile game… ;)

I'm so glad you liked this game! I'll balance the difficulty as soon as I finish off my current jam. I actually watched the video of the stream afterwards because I was doing a final by the time of stream hehe. I will probably pick 1-2 of my projects for further development this year and hopefully get a complete game done :D
Just curious, are you participating in Trijam #333 for the next weeks? Your games are always amazing and I want to see more if I could haha.

Yes, I’m participating in Trijam, although I almost abandoned the project this week due to (another) family loss… I was not too focused in this project…

I'm sorry... My condolences.
